Eliot Grondin won a bronze medal at the Snowboard Cross World Cup in Gudauri, Georgia, despite suffering a fall in the grand final.
Silver medalist last weekend at the Erzurum stage, the 23-year-old snowboarder saw Austrian Elias Leitner fall right in front of him before the last jump of the course. He dragged the Quebecer down with him and third place was finally awarded to Grondin.
Austria’s Jakob Dusek won the gold medal, while Australia’s Adam Lambert took second place.
On the women’s side, Audrey McManiman was stopped in the quarter-finals and is ranked 16th.
Frenchwomen Julia Pereira de Sousa and Lea Casta finished first and second respectively, while Italian Michela Moioli completed the podium.
Let us recall that this World Cup represents the penultimate stop on the circuit before the World Championships at the end of March.
